Message from HRH Prince Michael of Kent GCVO Royal Patron
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
The rapidly increasing globalization of business and investments presents accountants and financiers with exciting new challenges. They must seize the important opportunities that develop. Now, as never before, they must be professional.
But it is not only the financial directors of large companies that are being called upon; it also concerns the financial directors and managers of medium and even small companies. The significance of the role of the professional financial manager in business is growing exponentially. The financial manager is a vital member of the management team, actively participating in the planning, development and implementation of the commercial strategy of the company.
I am encouraged to see that the professional experience in financial management gained in the West is now being shared with the specialists throughout Eastern Europe. I regularly visit this part of the world and witness at first hand the rapid development of the economies of these countries. I see how Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and other countries are becoming the organic part of the world economy, integrating into it at a remarkable pace.
The Institute of Certified Financial Management will assist the financial managers and directors in Eastern Europe to become full members of the world community. It will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and views and enable them to share their experience with western colleagues. I firmly believe that it will have a significant impact on the prosperous development and competitiveness of business in these countries.
